About

Verbum Libere, from Latin “Free Words,” is an independent publication launched on December 22, 2025. Our goal is to inspire people to read, think critically, and engage deeply with the world around them. We believe that education enriches the mind and that the humanities, too often overlooked, remain essential for understanding both the past and the present.

This is a space dedicated to freedom of thought, knowledge, and speech. By exploring history, literature, film, and cultural traditions, we examine how people once lived and how the past continues to shape our lives today.

Our mission is simple.

We are here to provoke thought, to challenge established beliefs and underlying assumptions and to encourage slow, uncomfortable, but meaningful thinking. Therefore, Verbum Libere is a space for free thinkers, those who question everything, including their own belief systems. We value depth over speed, analysis over instant opinion, and understanding over easy answers.

The Brown Horse in a Race

Our logo is not a symbol of victory, speed, or dominance. It represents endurance, independence, and refusal to follow the crowd blindly. The brown horse does not race to win at all costs; it runs its own race, at its own pace, grounded and persistent. In a world obsessed with speed, trends, and instant reactions, the horse stands for slow thinking, intellectual resilience, and the courage to remain different — even when that means falling behind the herd.

The texts published here are critical, analytical, comparative, and occasionally sarcastic, but above all, educational. Our authors hold MAs in History and have studied Archaeology, grounding each text in research while remaining accessible to a wider audience.
